This site is not anti-government. This site is pro good government. Societies need government to function.
Citizens in free societies obey laws because they have faith that laws are enacted with a sense and tenor of morality, fair play, logic, and reason. Prudent and rational people only want to live free and peacefully, and they wish the same for others.
Prudent and reasonable people realize that the same law enforcement officer that pulls them over for driving whilst drinking would also put his or her butt on the line to save us from criminals and perv's who had invaded our home.
So we obey the laws. We admit our mistakes when we've made them, and we take our licks when we use bad judgment. That's the way it works.
But the no-smoke gangs don't care about any of that. They're divisive. And they know it. And they don't care.
When citizens begin to not respect the rule of law, and when they flagrantly disobey laws, the fabric of our country(ies) begins to fall apart. That's bad for all of us. But the no-smoke zealots don't care about that either.
Hence, our use of the words "slob," "un-American," "zealot," "fascist," et al on this website.
Smoking bans are oppressive government. They are anti-freedom.
They are bad government.
